Y/n and Izuku have been best friends for a long time, despite Izuku being quirkless, she stayed by his side no matter what, even though she's a natural-born genius, like Bakugo. [hanahaki disease au] you and midoriya were best friends, every since childhood. you were inseparable since you were young. everyone knew you guys were great friends, but nothing more. you, wanted something more. as the two of you grew older this, became a problem. you see, around the same time quirks had come into the world, the hanihaki disease did aswell. with no research on the illness, people had no cure. as the years went on and more and more research were put into the illness, the scientists studying the disease, made a shocking discovery. there is no medical way to erase the effects of the disease except for surgery. to cure yourself of disease you need true geniune love. it cannot be cured by friendship. only love. the effects of it are quite lethal. when a certain someone starts to fall in love, and the other person does not, the start to show signs of the illness. you cough up petals, flower petals to be specific, and the longer you dont confess or they dont return the feelings, the more the conditions worsen. with no treatment, your lungs fill up with the petals, you suffocate, and you die. the illness has become quite normal over the years, but unexpectedly.. you both get it. for eachother.
