He seeks to find his way back to his timeline, but it is difficult finding his contacts being that he is not at all the person he was before, he was now a black woman. His only way back is through the Tree of Life map, but it ends up showing him who he really was or is (which one is it?! ugh this time looping). On this search through the Tree of Life, he finds he was absolutely and completely unlike anyone from his time, quite literally, but he now must return to save his timeline from humans being oppressed and obliterated by humanlike AI who are unaware that they are just robots.
