This is my story of surviving a home that never felt safe. Controlled by strict rules and silenced by violence, I endure a father's cruelty and a mother's contradictions. My only hope lies in my belief - and my mother's reminder - that education can be the key to escape. Some days, survival means nothing more than breathing, but I keep going, holding on to the promise of a tomorrow I can finally call my own.

In 2021, out of the total number of people living in extreme poverty in India, 47 million were female. According to the World Bank, for the rural, working-age population, only 16 percent of women are economically active, compared with 53 percent of men. These statistics exist because of women's limited access to resources and financial assets, traditional ideologies, and the burden of domestic work. However, education, including higher education such as colleges, can help women and girls learn the skills required to become successful. Reaching this level includes becoming more knowledgeable, earning a higher income, and living a more comfortable life. Most importantly, once girls are given access to educational tools, they are able to set up future generations for success as well, breaking the cycle of poverty.

This poem describes a magical journey through a mysterious forest at dawn, where the speaker feels a mix of curiosity and wonder. They meet a playful leprechaun, who suddenly transforms into a new, fascinating creature with wild eyes. Nearby, there's a peaceful lake shining in the morning light. The speaker feels torn between the lively, mysterious creature and the calm, beautiful lake, each representing different choices in life-one filled with excitement and adventure, the other with peace and comfort. In the end, the speaker realizes that no matter which path they choose, they won't lose. This journey helps them discover their inner strength and the beauty of following their own path in life.
