Beth, short for Bertha Hughes is a doctor in the world of Attack on Titan. She's the love interest of Captain Levi. Beth is kind, caring, beautiful, with long black hair and big brown eyes, age 27. She is described as highly intelligent, professional, dedicated, confident, and passionate about her work. Her personality is opposite to Levi's. Beth was first a soldier in the Garrison Regiment for three years before leaving to pursue her medical degree. After becoming a doctor, she was posted to another district for a few years before being transferred to the capital city at the Survey Corps headquarters, where she has a small staff of medical interns working under her. Their relationship features a slow-paced journey where they don't realize their feelings for each other initially and are in denial about them, along with wholesome and awkward moments. Beth experiences many cute and awkward moments with Levi due to her crush on him. She gets a little flustered and awkward around Levi, occasionally stuttering despite being a confident woman, and respects him, while Levi slowly falls for her due to her warmth, calm nature, and passionate attitude. Levi is not blunt about his feelings or actions and is not easily attached to someone. The story includes subtle moments of growing connection, with the rest of the squad noticing that something is developing between them. Levi remains stoic and cold, not showing affection except toward Beth, and even then, only in private.
