For a lot of them, they have a bad backstory and are traumatized, so they went into hiding because having this ability isn't normal. In fact, a handful of them went to 'facilities' and are never heard from again. Those people refer to themselves as 'inside,' and those who live free from them are 'outside.' Elsie Kirigaya and 3 of her friends (Kylie, Cassadie, and Cersie) have oddities and are living on the 'outside'. At first, they lived a 'normal' life. That was until the summer before college, when Elsie and her friends went on a life-changing adventure thanks to her ex-girlfriend (not by choice), named Kylie. They go to two different 'facilities' and help the 'inside' escape while trying to stop the 'President' of the facilities, named Damian Lord. He has an evil plan for the ones he captured. All while still finding their feelings for one another. Will they (Kylie, Elsie, Cassadie, Cersie, and all the people they helped rescue from both facilities) be able to catch and stop Damian Lord? What will happen with Kylie and Elsie? Will they get back together or be broken up forever?
