Helena and Callias aren't ordinary. They're immortal. Unfortunately, they're probably the least qualified people to be immortal. Tasked with saving humans from themselves, they usually tend to make matters worse everywhere they go. They make an unusual team, Helena with her blunt practicality and Callias with his knack for getting them both into trouble with the law. One things for sure: when they meet up, history gets a lot more interesting... (Warning: May not be 100% historically accurate. I did a significant amount of research, but I also took some creative liberties.) This story is completed.

Everyone knows about Julius Caesar: the man, the myth, the legend. His great conquests and victories, his ideas and improvements. His life was brought to an end at the hands of the senators, but his legacy was never forgotten. Now, in the 21st Century, 14 year old July Marcellus thinks nothing of the little Latin references she sees in class or her fascination with history, but the world seems to think differently. After all, all souls return, and whose to say you aren't one of them? Playlist: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1o6sBiYP7ZDie5tVJMkHVq?si=5aaf960b36884fe9

In the centuries since it's publication, Act IV, Scene iii of Shakespeare's The Tragedy of Julius Caesar continues to make the audience wonder-- what nature of relationship did Brutus and Cassius have between each other? In this imaginative take on a prominent scene, the thoughts of Cassius are explored in a way that suggests that there may be more than meets the eye. DISCLAIMER: All dialogue quoted and allusions made to any of William Shakespeare's work are part of the public domain and have been one hundred years since the original publication. I own nothing but the thoughts I give to Cassius and any lines of dialogue not belonging to Shakespeare. Cover: The Death of Caesar, Camuccini, 1798, Public Domain

He gave Rome twenty-five years. Rome gave him another chain. Lucius Lyconi has marched every mile a soldier can march - across rivers, through snow, against tribes who vanish into the forests. Now, with his service done, he dreams only of his wife, his son, and the land he was promised. But Rome doesn't let go of its wolves so easily. A last battle in Gaul turns him into a hero. A ceremony in the Forum binds him to the city. And as shadows coil around the Senate and the triumvirs play their dangerous game, Lyconi learns that the blood he's spilled was only the beginning. Gladiators. Legions. Betrayal. The fate of the Republic itself. The Shadow of the Eagle is the story of one soldier caught between duty and freedom - and the choice that could make him the hand that kills Caesar... or the last man to save him. ⚔ Updates weekly ⚔

So we're reading the play Julius Caesar in school and I really love the story....... but not the Shakespearean language. So, I decided to rewrite the play in modern times, with different (and occasionally gender-bent) characters, and with my own random ships. So, I made this basically a Julius Caesar gang AU set in NYC. So yay!!!

Ancient Rome, August 89 BC. Rosemary Medici suffers a loss that not only changes the course of her life but leaves her stuck in a world that she doesn't belong in. The Caesar family takes her in and raises her as their own. But when she discovers her late mother's timeless secret, she must set out to accomplish the mission she left behind, even though it might put everything she loves at risk. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "I know you, Julius. I know everything you do, every city you conquer, every fallen soldier you honor, every life you spare, every word that comes out of your mouth, comes from hope and honor in your heart. You don't fight for greed, you fight for the people. You fight for love. You fight for the eternal empire of Rome." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- By: Este Harkness
