After 5 years Price is assigning you to Task force 141 What will happen when a certain Lieutenant begins to grow attracted to you? Ghost found himself in the crossfire while in conflict during a mission. Soap finds him and desperately tries to help, not ever imagining having gone on a mission with two people and only coming back with one person alive. Throughout the time Soap is tending to Ghost, Ghost's mind wanders on about what the future could having held. •--•--• (Also posted this on my Ao3) I really don't regret anything. Ngl, this is my first ever one-shot. I think I did better with it than my other works. If you're wondering why Soap's "yous" switch between "ya" and "you," it's because I feel like he's more of a "ya" guy, but there's some situations/phrases where "ya" doesn't cut it and you have to use "you," y'know? Celeste, known as Sgt. Celeste 'Skylar' Jonas, was new to the 141, recommended to her new captain John Price by one of her oldest friends. Sargent MacTavish, also known as Soap to his colleagues and friends. She had demonstrated her exceptional sniper skills since the day she joined the army, catching the eye of many task-forces, but she wanted to join the best of the best, the most exceptional team of soldiers, and here it was offered to her on a silver platter. Having trained in hunting since she was a child, due to her late Fathers old hobby, the hunt, the kill, all of it came very naturally to her, back when she was 16 she would have felt compassion towards the animals she would hunt, but nowadays it wasn't the same, the compassion and guilt she once felt, let her body a long long time ago, now she was just a cold, killing machine. She wasn't always this way, but when your father is murdered in front of your eyes by your own mother, along with your sister, with the very gun you had been gifted by him as a child, you tend to acquire some mental scars. She had watched every person she cared about die around her, her brain constantly fogged with the memories of the people she had lost, it would make her heart wrench, if she had one left. She had shut off that part of her, the part that felt anything, she would laugh, but she didn't feel joy, she could cry, but she wouldn't feel the sadness, tears just slid down her cheeks, her heart still as cold and dead as ever. She refused to feel her emotions. Making her a perfect soldier, a puppet almost, up until now that's how she had been treated. Only Soap knowing her real self, the old Celeste, not this 'Skylar' that everyone saw. He knew everything, he had been with her through it all, he was your only friend, your family, the only person who had never left her side, the only person to stay alive, the only person she trusted. But when she joins someone catches her eye, someone who shared the same cold dead stare as her.
