"You came into my life like a green flag - and suddenly, every part of me was ready to go full throttle toward something I never knew I needed."
Hannah Gordon, eldest daughter of racing legend Jeff Gordon, was never expected to follow in her father's footsteps. Yet from the time she was three, her world revolved around the roar of engines and the blur of the speedway, watching "The Rainbow Warrior" chase victory from the sidelines.
She saw her father's highs and lows, his 2003 divorce from her birth mother, Brooke Sealey. His remarriage to Ingrid Vandebosch in 2006, who became the steady hand Hannah never knew she needed. Life moved fast: two younger siblings, High School graduation, University, and Jeff's retirement in 2015 after twenty-three years on the track.
But a year earlier, at the Nationwide series race in Texas, Hannah met Chase Elliott, the young driver who would unknowingly steal her attention right there and in the future. But at the time, despite their meeting being brief, they drifted apart, each chasing their own dreams, Chase into NASCAR, Hannah into a career as a YouTuber. Their families supporting them each step of the way as Graduation came along for both of them again in 2018.
When the 2020 season began at Daytona, fate brought them face-to-face again. Whatever sparked between them in 2014 was still burning quietly, waiting for its green flag to fly.
