Book #1 of the LOTP series | WIP Shapes move in her periphery, nothing holding form-dark figures lunging and wheeling, teeth flashing like shards of moonlight, tails lashing, paws striking with frenzied force. Then, the growl. Low, rolling, distant yet heavy with fury. Wolves she knows by voice alone... and others, snarls unfamiliar, tangled with the scent of something foreign. Forcing her head up sends pain ricocheting down her spine. Her vision swims, bleeds into shadows-until a thick, unmistakable scent coils into her nostrils. When the blur finally sharpens, it all rushes back. Blood. -*- Lunis has long been regarded as the misfit of the pack-solitary, stubborn, and prone to recklessness. Shunned by her peers and branded a freak, she has learned to seek refuge far from the critical eyes and scornful smiles of those around her. But when nightmarish visions of bloodshed and death begin to seep into reality, hinting at impending doom for her pack, Lunis is forced to confront her own isolation. In a desperate bid for salvation, she turns to an unlikely source of help. Has her mind betrayed her, or are these eerie premonitions warnings of a hidden menace lurking within their territory? This book follows an African American boy as he wonders over into the white community something not usually done. Considering that during the year 1830's New York was severely divided into pocket communities helping keep the oppressed oppressed, since they would live in cramped apartment buildings with other families while the rich lived in manors. While the immigrants worked in factories the rich turned towards investments. Matthews~ (African American) 6 years old and on the street. I watch the other children get handed bread. I watch them get taken into the homes made for children like us. My clothes are tattered and torn. I go to bed underneath boxes or in garbage cans to stay warm. Annabelle~ 20 years old, the daughter of a noble getting ready for another social event. I walk with the other women who are ahead of me. They are giggling and talking about the recent engagements, the recent social gatherings, the recent investments that potential suitors have made, yet I am simply not interested. I would rather get a job. I want to get down and dirty. Daniel~ 21 years old, a nobleman that owns quite a few acres of land for farming. Father finally died. Leaving the estate to me. I will now be able to rent out the land instead of having father put outrageous buying prices on the damn property. No one can afford them in today's day in age. Not to mention that once the property is divided up into the sectors with their own little cottages we could have our own little self-sufficient economy if I play my cards right. No, my father ever the man he was decided it was too much of a risk. Well you can roll over in your grave. I never did like him. *Warning: There may be some harsh scenes while Matthews are on the streets, and scenes that deal with death. Please be aware of this as you read. # in Historical Fiction as of: 931~ 7/14/17 302~ 7/22/17 288~ 7/24/17

The God of the mountains is the God of the valley. This was meme that I saw on someone's Facebook status. It spoke to me, but I was in a time of such deep internal conflict that I just didn't recognize the depth of the truth it conveyed. I was contemplating suicide because my life had seemingly fallen apart. My view was obscured by a barrage of poor life choices so, I did not have time for some fortune cookie type of philosophy on someone's social media status. Also, this was shortly after a dark episode where I was on the verge of taking my own life. As I started this incredulous journey of rebuilding my life I met incredible people that have sowed seeds of wisdom into my life. Thus, in writing this book it is my aim to share insights I have received in a way that is grounded and congruent with Christian faith. This is not a book written by someone on the mountain top looking down on you with abject scrutiny, but just another person making his way through the valley on route to the mountain of hope. So, if you feel lost in this valley of despair then I invite you to stroll with me on this journey as I reflect and share insights gained in my own journey. It's not some heroic comeback tale, but rather a transparent reflection of what it takes to rise above negativity and internal conflict that continues to torment those who are in search of that elusive break in life. In this book I reflect learning gained from on good and bad decisions. I try to pull back the veil in a way that makes the experience relatable and also adds value through a God-inspired perspective. I may not have life figured out and that is the beauty of my journey. My boldness to be imperfect and transparent about that truth. This book sets out to encourage all those who feel lost in the valley of despair. It is my sincere hope that this book delivers in it's goal to remind those still in pursuit of their dream of this simple truth - it is possible.

No matter how absurd this story may seem, please remember that it is TRUE. It happened in real life. The fatal accident, not made up; the girl who had to ingratiate others to fit in, not made up; the rich, narcissistic girl who demanded compliment every day, not made up; the hostile girl who suffered through unimaginable pain, not made up. It looks fake, yes, but coincidence did bring these girls together, and Ella Cass, the author, is one of them. Which one of the girls? I'll leave you to guess. A note from Ella Cass: 'If I haven't had that instant where I narrowly avoided death, I would've got buried in the dark until everyone who has ever had any memory of me die off and it would be as if I've never existed. So, this accident, in some way, inspired me to write my experiences down, on the sole purpose of letting my memory live after my death that may occur tomorrow or decades down the road.'

"If you ever thought living with roommates was a big sleepover, you thought wrong. Try living in a house with four strangers-each from a different world-you'll never truly understand chaos." Living in a townhouse with four other girls-each with their own culture, background, and personal quirks-was never going to be easy. We're all different, yet forced to coexist under one roof. You'd think we'd bond over shared living space, but it's more like a battle of wits, clashing personalities, and unspoken tension. Between the cleaning habits, awkward silences, and gambled routines, there's more than just drama brewing here. Join me, the quiet one, as I try to keep the peace, navigate each girl's unique way of life, and find out what it really means to live with people who are, in every way, strangers. But some thoughts are better left unsaid... and some secrets may just be too big to keep. These are the thoughts of a roommate. Will we all survive this together, or will the walls we've built inside ourselves finally crumble?

In the heart of Evermore City, two lives run parallel, each haunted by shadows of the past. Isaiah Simmons, a man of calm precision, thrives on control and order, masking the wounds of a betrayal that shattered his trust in humanity. His life is a fortress-unbreachable, or so he believes. Lila McCann, a poised and brilliant architect, buries her trauma behind layers of sophistication and self-reliance. She has mastered the art of keeping people at arm's length, unwilling to let anyone glimpse the twisted pain she carries. When their worlds collide, what begins as a chance encounter becomes a slow unraveling of the barriers they've built. But as their connection deepens, so do the secrets they've both fought to keep buried. With family dramas threatening to pull them apart, internal struggles clouding their judgment, and betrayals looming large, Isaiah and Lila must decide: Is love worth the risk of letting someone in, even when the scars run so deep? Theme: A slow-burn romance filled with passion, twists, and drama, where the past and present collide to challenge trust, forgiveness, and the pursuit of healing.

This isn't going to be a traditional description but here's the best way I can put this. Look at this novel as an invitation to join me metaphorically at 4am, sitting on the sand, overlooking the beach, still crafting that perfect attempt. This "tale" is composed of an almost fate like union and reacquaintance between the two that never forgot each other. They lean into that familiar feeling of trust thus sparking a new bond that quickly reveals itself as the beginning of a journey that I wish could have unfolded for him and for us. Without giving too much away, this is a tale of self-confidence, transformation, and hope. If you've read this far, thank you. If you decide to pick this up, younger me would be genuinely grateful that someone finally showed up to listen. Come along with Phoenix and Catalyst, through a journey of transformation that spans three adventures. "The first will feel uncomfortable, the second will seem endless, and by the third, you will meet a person completely unrecognizable."

But behind his ever-present grin, he hides a weight he's too afraid to share. When a late-night breakdown brings them closer than ever, Daniel realizes his feelings for Blaze are more than just friendship. As the two navigate their changing relationship, tension builds between them-feelings unspoken, glances lingering a second too long, moments charged with something they won't admit. To everyone else, it's obvious: they're falling for each other. But will they ever see it for themselves? Or will fear and miscommunication keep them apart?
