It all started with two partners for life, that loved each other to the moon and back....cursed with infertility. The empire needed an heir, and so the succession system began. Two children from the entire empires nobility would go through a competition with a series of classes and challenges that would observe and test the children's abilities to rule the empire. As this system had been set in place, future rulers of the empire continued to use this system and embedded it in the empire's history. Now, even the blood-relations to the royal family would not be given a chance to the throne without competing in the succession system. However, in present time, something (or someone) threatens the empires stability, and hints towards a war between 2 empires. The succession system became even harder than before.
