Thomas is sent up to the glade in a metal box. He was confused and angry so when he was pulled out of the box, he ran away but then face planted into the grass. now it might seem strange that this story begins with the words " the end" but it will soon make sense, that for the beginning of this story had to begin with a tragic " the end".

(I've been in the glade for a day now, Newt gave me the tour, and they are throwing a bonfire tonight to welcome me. I keep throwing up, then getting really hungry, but I guess its just nerves. Alby doesn't really like me here but what choice do i have? To be honest, I am truly terrified. Not only the fact I cannot remember anything apart from my first name - Morgan - but I am a girl stuck in these huge concrete walls with forty to fifty teenage boys. Newt is making me sleep on a mattress in his room to prevent me from having to sleep with everyone. I'll just have to trust him.) Will we ever find a way out? Why did Newt jump off the maze wall? Why does he seem so attractive, even though I have known him for less than a day?

Her past unbeknownst to her, Sumirei had been in the Glade for 2 years, brought up in the Box with the original Gladers, and she's made rivalries and bonds forged from steel. Her life crumbled apart, but is held together by the Glue, when another girl saying everything is going to change when she comes up. And she wasn't lying. Just like everyone else; she knew nothing as to why she was there, how she got there, and why specifically her. But she knew she wouldn't succumb to the Creators awful ways, and steeled herself to better fit the Glade, determined to pass their stupid trials, but equally as terrified as everyone else.
