Hope County, Montana. Tall trees, endless blue skies, farmland as far as the eye can see, and a cult that wishes for nothing but total control over the county. At least, that's what you've heard. You are (Y/N) (L/N), internet reporter and vlogger of your very own channel on YouTube. When you decide to look into claims of a murderous cult residing within the county, you find yourself in true danger. Will you ever be able to report your findings to the world outside of Hope County? Or will poor unsuspecting souls continue to wander into the death trap that Hope County has become? Far Cry 5 fan fiction inspired by the game itself and Inside Eden's Gate (look it up on YouTube, pretty cool). It will deviate from the real ending of the game but will otherwise remain the same. Before there was the sadist John Seed, cult herald who tortures his doctrine into the sinners of Hope County, there was the lawyer John Duncan. He resided in Atlanta, fresh out of a prestige East Coast university with the inheritance of his recently deceased adoptive parents weighing heavy in his pocket. (YOU are the amateur lawyer, Evelyn Maine. When John Duncan offers you an internship, you get to witness first hand the expensive parties and tailored suits of John's past sinful life. When you end up in Montana some years later, with the man far from your mind, you're introduced to the new persona of the lawyer you once knew. It's up to you to decide if you like what you see or not...)

Dahlia Hale is the youngest person working at the Hope County Sheriff's Department. Hailing from a small town in Louisiana, it's going to take her some time to fully acclimate to the new environment and living on her own. Developing friendships takes time even for the most functional of people and for disasters like Dahlia it takes even longer. She gets along with her coworkers and there's some religious family who's taken a shine to her, for some reason. It seems like she's on her way to getting the kind of friends she's only ever dreamed about, even if it's going to take some more time. Then everything goes to shit. Halfway through her six-month probationary hire and that nice religious family has kicked off a holy war with her becoming enemy number one. To one side she's a hero. To the other she's a monster. She's not sure which is right.
