Participating in story pitch challenges has been a really fun exercise to think up new story ideas and strengthen my story description writing skills (although pitches tend to be too long and too detailed for a standard blurb). But as their teachers and friends begin to die from the invisible poison in the air, one terrifying truth emerges: the twins aren't getting sick at all. Forced out into a dead and dust-choked England, Laura-outgoing, athletic, obsessed with military history and maths-and Launa-quiet, brilliant with chemistry and electronics-must scavenge food, dodge desperate survivors, and navigate a landscape where rescue never comes.
