How long would you survive? Gemma thought she'd seen the last of Christopher Daley. She was wrong. When she ends up trapped in the city after an event that devastates society, Gemma has to trust the man who broke her heart as they set out on the long journey back home in a world that will never be the same again. GEMMA: before her best friend died, Gemma made her a promise. Gemma leaves four-year-old CJ with his grandmother and catches the train to a law firm in the city to fulfil it. CHRISTOPHER: scarred by a disastrous marriage, and the secret weighing him down, Christopher steers clear of women looking for a commitment. Then Gemma turns up at his office, and drops a bombshell that will have him questioning everything he believed. They have no idea what is about to happen ... THE PULSE: while Gemma is still in Christopher's office, the country is devastated by an event that wipes out electricity, communication, and most forms of transport. By the end of the night, the city is in chaos. THE JOURNEY: Over three hundred miles from home, Gemma's only concern is getting back to young CJ, and his grandmother. Christopher is worried about his own family, and there was no way in good conscience he could let Gemma travel so far alone in a world that had suddenly changed. Together they set out for home, terrified of what the future holds. A story of love, survival, desperation, compassion, loss: a story of never-ending hope

Yet again I used ai because I am not too good at ideas. I made 1 ai insane and needed to use a second. More grammatical fixes I added a bit to the story out of boredom. also, an EMP is an ElectroMagnetic Pulse. Which disables or permanently damages electrical components.

When Morgan Taylor arrived in Denver to celebrate his sister's 21st birthday, he was positive it would be a weekend to remember. What he never expected was it turning into a weekend he wished he could forget. Unbeknown to Morgan, a shadow terrorist organization has been building over generations, quietly infiltrating the world's governments and armies, all so they might one day be in a position to destroy our way of life. On a bright July morning during the summer of 2020, that fateful day arrives. When an EMP levels North America, Morgan and his friends are viciously thrown into a world without rule or order, and in which survival itself does not come without sacrifice. In their mad dash to escape a city suddenly swarmed in chaos, they are joined by two young sisters, an act of violence bringing their paths together. Once cleared of the city, shell-shocked and desperate to reunite with their families, the group embarks on the Colorado Trail-a 500-mile long hiking trail beginning in Waterton Canyon just outside of Denver, and ending in their hometown of Durango. But to make it home, they must find within themselves the strength and resolve to navigate 500 miles of hostile country, filled with hungry and desperate souls who wouldn't hesitate to kill them for what they have. On its surface, Echoes is a tale of survival-of a group of friends who must band together against insurmountable odds. At its heart is a story of the power behind a family's love, and how even in the darkest of times, it alone can serve as the light to guide you home.

What if the end of civilization was not a random act of nature? What if it was the conscious act of a person who wanted the number of humans reduced dramatically - like by 99.9%? An epic in multiple books, The World's End Series is a large cast adventure that will alternately tear your heart out and make you recoil in horror - but it will not allow you to stop reading. In the vein of a combination of Stephen King's The Stand and Larry McMurtry's Lonesome Dove, the book shows what happens before and after the world changes forever. Written in a refreshingly natural style, the story flows more like a movie than a book. The series is inhabited by an unforgettable group of characters, all as real as any people you may meet today - or be lucky enough not to meet. There are college students, army Rangers, whores, Geneticists, Dollar Store Managers, American Indians, orphans, inventors and even gang members. And you WILL remember each and every one of them as they build a new world. Their stories, at first completely separate, intertwine until the entire cast - or at least those who survive - meet in a final struggle that will define the type of world humans will inhabit for the next thousand years.

It's been 5 ½ years since the Shift first plunged the industrialized world into darkness. Left with only a few old diesel engines and Classic Rock albums recorded on vinyl, the EMPs have forced the survivors to adapt to a world devoid of computers, bereft of a global economy and reeling without Facebook. Chris Jung now leads the Vicious Rabbits Bicycle Mounted Cavalry through the necropolis of the DC Beltway region, protecting Rochelle and her allies in the Orange Pact from bandit raids. Meanwhile, Reverend Rita Luevano struggles to maintain an uneasy peace between the Unitarian majority and the Christian minority in Greater Monticello. The Orange Pact allies are threatened by foes all around. Outnumbered and outgunned, they stand against the rising tide of chaos and tyranny largely through the wily interventions of the intelligence organization known as the Swan, headed by Meredith Jung. But the darkness is closing in on this little slice of sanity in the Shenandoah Valley. Meredith knows it's only a matter of time until the Lambs of God in Lynchburg decide to attack, and when they do, there will be no stopping them. Furthermore, Meredith carries a secret so potentially devastating that it dwarves the prospect of being overrun by religious fanatics bent on their destruction. Rita is called to join Chris and his Bicycle Mounted Cavalry on a mission of utmost urgency that leads them into the heart of darkness: suburban Maryland. Along the way, they discover that nothing is as it seems. Between Meredith's secret and the revelations uncovered in Maryland, Chris, Rita and Meredith find themselves where they would really rather not be, at the center of the vortex where the entire fate of humanity hangs in the balance.
