What if Destiny requires Consent? "When Sky and Earth embrace, so shall be born the final God of the Untamed Wilds, he who is marked by Balance, and who shall overthrow the Nephilim of Va Allae even while crushing the Faeries of Haedel underfoot." - Prophecy of the Wild God Vydahr is a young Angel - a vampiric race of powerful magical beings that live for centuries - who lives with his family in the south-western corner of Naose in a place called the Vale. A place of megafauna and lingering Faerie magic, the Vale is vast and unforgiving to those unprepared for its challenges. Yet young Vydahr - not quite yet 18 at the beginning of this tale - moves through the misty groves and waving meadows as rhythmically as the seasons. In tune with himself and the natural world as he is, Vydahr does not rely on his skills and strength alone. He was raised by a great healer of sternly compassionate demeanor; a soft spoken, fox-clever tinkerer; and a distant warrior-scholar with the curiosity and capacity for mischief of a magpie. With the support of his aunt, uncle, and father as well as a cousin that always seems to find a way to convince Vydahr to participate in varied magical and mundane experiments, the young Angel will go on a journey to discover himself and his place in the world. Will Vydahr's Journey be one of destruction? Of creation? Or perhaps a third path will be revealed along the way... In Wildheart, identity isn't found in isolation, it's forged in the bonds we choose and the ones we're born into. Vydahr's path is anything but paved: marked by prophecy, tested by magic older than empires, and guided by family both bound by blood and found along the way. This is not just another high fantasy draped in rich lore. It's a story that serves a more intimate truth: that belonging gives us the strength to take the first steps toward who we are meant to become. No man is an island - not even a fledgling god.

I'm aroace. I like romance novels. As you can imagine, there isn't much representation for that in such a genre, so I created my own. This is the story of Katie (our aroace queen) as she finds a person she actually wants to spend forever with. There aren't enough stories that show the love that can be given even when aromantic. However this is also the story of Jordan, and you will hear from both characters throughout the story. In the original document, the speaker is denoted by different colored text. Here, bold = Jordan, and not bold = Katie. I have 125 pages written so far, and I decided to share it because young me would have benefited from reading something like this. Some of the stuff we will tackle: depression from being in the Navy, discovering sexuality and the very real feelings that come with that, gender stuff, long-distance struggles, QPRs, the struggles of intimacy when asexual... etc. If there is a tag that you don't think belongs, it is because it hasn't come up in the story yet. Mature tag coming much much later. Also, all the pictures are coming from my battles with Google's Gemini generative AI application. Updated 12/10

You are a scholar sent to Ithilien after the War, tasked with explaining the land's refusal to heal. You write observations, take samples, argue with elves who listen to the land instead of measuring it. Somewhere between data and silence, an attachment forms; never fully recorded, later reduced to myth. What remains are your notes, and the winter moths returning.

Maya Reeves's research is dismissed as pseudoscience. Her mentor is no longer around. Her career is hanging by a thread. But deep in the Amazon rainforest, she's found something impossible: huge, ancient trees that seem to communicate with each other and warn each other about future events. Mateo Oliveira holds seven generations of indigenous knowledge about the forest's secrets. He's also the last person Maya expected to have as a research partner. Together, they'll prove that the forest thinks, communicates, and remembers-if they can survive long enough to document it. A slow-burn romance between two scientists discovering that some patterns are worth following, even when they lead somewhere unexpected.

'ARE YOU LISTENING?' This is an ecological message carried in the form of an #acrostic poem, a #poetic story if you like. The title came by accident a typo when chatting on #WattPadd with one of my many #PoetsPub friends some months ago, it was my intention dedicate it to her, but my aging memory is a neurological (an ecological) disaster and in its wasteland, sadly her name can't be found. So if you find yourself reading this, please remind me and I'll correct the error of my ways. But, more importantly, it is a reminder to the human race, to you, to heed the obvious warnings of this planets impending fate, no don't turn a blind eye because it's not in your field of view. Its the primary focus of the prevalent ecological issue contained in the #NationalGeographic challenge #PlanetOrPlastic to communicate the effects of plastic waste, upon our seas and oceans. However, this message cuts across a number of issues like inane #Politics, #Global warming, #Acid #Rain, #Fracking and #Nuclear #Waste, each of which is equally damning, with its own primary focus '#SavethePlanet'. 'ARE YOU LISTENING?'

When Dr Alex Oslac is tasked with archiving the Herabridge school history to celebrate its 500th anniversary, she encounters a past master of the school who died in World War 1. From that moment she is haunted by dreams of past lives in his company throughout history. Worse, when she looks up the details of those dreams she finds them all to be true. Is she going mad, or is there something else going on? Something so huge she couldn't possibly get her head around it... Until after she dies. This is chapter 1 of my book which is available for free on Amazon with Kindle Lending Library or Kindle Unlimited. Book 2 is being released in December. I'm told the cover is a little old-fashioned, but then so am I! I'm also told the book is 'clever'. Not quite sure what that means but apparently it can limit my readership. A friend suggested I put this here to alert people to its existence and I'm hoping her label doesn't put people off! I can't release the entire book here due to the terms of my contract with Amazon, sorry!

Charlotte is escaping expectations. Matthew is searching for lost music. They first glimpse each other on a train to Birchwood-and spend a spring circling each other in a village where dahlias bloom in colors no one predicted and time moves slower than anywhere else. She's staying with her grandparents, planting tubers that won't reveal themselves until August. He's researching a forgotten composer's piano manuscripts, hoping the quiet will help him finish his dissertation-or maybe remember how to create something of his own. They keep almost meeting. A glance on a platform. A near-miss on a village street. A moment in the forest where their hands brush reaching for the same pair of binoculars. In Birchwood, nothing is rushed. Not the seasons. Not the garden. And not two people slowly discovering that what they've been running toward might be each other. A cozy slow-burn romance about finding where you belong.
