Sofia always believed she had everything she needed: her mother's love, a peaceful home, and a constant sense of happiness. Living with her mother in a city in Mexico, she leads what she believes to be a dream life.
That's when something terrible awakens her from her imagination, bringing the harsh reality with it. With her life turned upside down, Sofia doesn't have many options other than to live with someone she never imagined meeting: her father, the man she only knew by name and the stories her mother told her.
Living with her new siblings is difficult for Sofia; every attempt at connection seems to hit invisible barriers made of distrust, jealousy, and stories that existed long before she arrived. They don't know how to welcome her, and Sofia, in turn, struggles with a doubt that accompanies her every day: Would allowing herself to form bonds there be a betrayal of the life she left behind... Or would it be a chance to belong to something again? Amidst harsh gestures, uncomfortable silences, and fleeting moments of openness that arise almost unintentionally, she is torn between the desire to retreat and the fear of never discovering what she might find if she allowed herself to stay.
