Maya Carter has always seen the world differently. While other kids chase each other across the playground, she hides under the oak tree with her sketchbook-where skies are purple, stars shine in daylight, and feelings live in colors. Maya has autism, and words don't always come easily. But through her art, she speaks louder than anyone else. When Eli, a curious classmate, befriends her, Maya discovers that maybe being different doesn't mean being alone. From childhood to high school, The World in Colors follows Maya's journey of friendship, acceptance, and self-discovery as she learns to embrace her voice-on paper and beyond. Because sometimes, the most beautiful worlds are the ones we see differently.
