After years of moving around following the death of her mom, Kirstie Maldonado is finally getting her life in order. She's following her dreams of becoming a Broadway star and her biggest concern is whether or not the boy she likes will ask her to the dance. Unfortunately, instead of an invitation to the dance, she gets harassed by ghosts. After she suffers a breakdown, her Aunt Isabella sends her off to Lyle House - a reputable, well-recommended group home. It seems like an okay place, despite Kirstie's fears of living with a constant, debilitating mental illness. But is Lyle House really as bright and chipper as it seems? And why won't her grumpiest housemate leave her alone? --------- Mitch Grassi doesn't eat anymore. He can't help it; every time he eats, he has to throw it up, so why bother? Unfortunately, starving yourself isn't exactly healthy, and after a few days of nothing but water and wheat crackers he collapses in the middle of English class. They slap on labels of 'anorexia' and 'bulimia' and force him into Lyle House, a group home for teens and young adults with mental health issues. Nobody will believe Mitch when he tells them that he isn't actually anorexic. Lyle House is a nightmare; most of the other kids are judgmental and rude, the decor is awful, and all the nurses and doctors are condescending and treat Mitch like a stupid kid. Ello all! ♡ My cousin and I love the Darkest Powers series by Kelley Armstrong so much we've decided to do this. It's basically us putting our self into the story and writing from there. If you haven't read the darkest powers series I highly recommend not reading this. Spoiler Alert! We right in different character's POV, including Rae! I felt like Rae didn't get enough book time in Kelly's stories so I've given her her own little side stories ♡ The story starts off at the beginning of the awakening when Chloe and Tori get captured. We had so much fun writing this so we hope you enjoy. To any darkest powers fans, we are sorry if some of the details from Kelley's story gets mixed up or aren't right. Nobody is perfect afterall. And when things couldn't have been worse, they're back. And they're not done with her.

Chloe has been best friends with Simon and Tori since middle school. Being best friends with the two also means being friends with their adopted brother, Derek. Only Derek doesn't want to particularly be friends - with anyone.
