The first villain that I love is Loki, the God of mischief. I have researched him and I can honestly say that he had a rough childhood. He was abandoned by his father, King Odin adopted him, and most of all, he wanted to take over Asgard because he wanted to be worthy of him. He was also a frost giant and people were scared of him, but on a deep and personal level, he wants to be someone that matters, also wants to be loved, and someone to see past his facade. Nonetheless, he has a brother named Thor, the God of thunder, and the two have a love-hate relationship. There would be times when his mother, Frigga, and Loki, would spend time together. The mother and son duo is beautifully touching. Once I found out that Loki had been rejected by his adopted father's love, it broke my heart and I felt so bad for him. Over the years, I learned to know Loki as a person, and it turns out that he isn't a monster in people's eyes. Sometimes, villains have a change of heart, because they realize that hurting people is not a solution to take it out on. They try their best to help other people, but in this case, it can be difficult for them to change their evil and distraught ways. I also realized that everyone has a voice, story, and the possibility to change somebody's life. It's never too late to change from the bad guy to the good guy.
