In modern day America, it's been fifteen long years since the previous Avatar passed away and a new one hasn't surfaced. And what happens? The U.S. government falsely brands an innocent, clueless boy from a politically relevant family named Theo Lyndon as the new Avatar in order to gain the international edge and Nerida doesn't even realize that's her spot being stolen. Yet. In a world where the purpose of the Avatar and all that being a bender stands for have been corrupted, will Nerida set things right, or will she remain in the tiny bubble she knows so well?
