Maria is a young girl marked by a unique and silent power. Her deep purple irises reveal a gift she barely understands: the ability to heal with a hug.
Raised by Manta, her adoptive mother, in an isolated place, they live a peaceful and affectionate life. Manta, with her calm and protective presence, has been the only constant figure in Maria's life, offering her love and security. But behind this unconditional love, Manta harbors secrets she has never dared to share-stories of a past that Maria barely knows but that begin to resurface over time.
By her side, always present, is Jandi, a teiú who has become her companion. Jandi is not just a friend but an extension of herself, someone who senses changes in her energy and shares the burden of isolation.
When, unexpectedly, a mighty caracara takes him away, Maria faces an impossible choice: to honor her mother, who never allowed her to leave the safety of their home, or to save him, driven by the deep love she feels for her friend. Maria disobeys her mother and embarks on a bold and risky journey.
As she experiences new things and makes friendships in the outside world, she begins to question her relationship with her mother and how maternal love has, in some ways, suffocated her.
But to understand how she reached this point, one must first uncover what happened many, many years ago-long before this girl was even born.
