Patricia Basis lives in two completely different worlds and Seattle in 1929 is just one of them. Patricia knows why she shouldn't tell anyone about the fairytale world that she entered in her dreams; even if it wasn't against the unenforced rules of Somniatis she learned long ago that that people in the normal world did not accept her fantasy. Ever since she first started visiting Somniatis she has felt less and less connected to the other world that she used to call home. However, when the stock market crashes Patricia and her family struggle to keep hold of their diner, now their only source of income. While conscious in her dream world Patricia tries to push the woes of the normal world out of her head. Still she doubts that the Depression will be kind to her and her family. Yet she does not realize that there is more it had yet to take.
