Princess Zelda has always been aware of her duty. Unlock her sacred powers by devoting her time to prayer. She spends her days yearning for the life of a researcher far from the castle, becoming a scholar or even just living life free from the devastating responsibilities of her own reality. Until Link bursts into her life. A silent symbol of her own failures. Clad in blue, the pair are thrust into preparation for the arrival of the calamity, their lives entwined with each-other's. All character's except for a few belong to Nintendo

One hundred years before Breath of the Wild, Hyrule faced its greatest trial. Bound by prophecy, Princess Zelda and the chosen Hero Link stand at the crossroads of love, duty, and sacrifice. As the shadow of Calamity Ganon looms the kingdom's legacy hangs in the balance. This is the untold chronicle of devotion and despair - where every choice carries the weight of generations, and the light of Hyrule flickers against the coming storm. The world ended on a Thursday. One moment, the city of New Hyrule buzzed with morning commuters; the next it was drowning in panic, sirens, and evacuation orders that arrived too late. People didn't know what to call them - "ferals," "infected," "zombies" - but you knew the truth the first moment you saw someone's eyes glaze over and their skin turn that awful pale shade: this wasn't something anyone was walking away from. You had no intention of surviving alone. And that was when you met him.

The Calamity is coming, and Zelda is doing everything she can to awaken her power and prevent it from happening. She believes that the appearance of strange ruins across the kingdom can help her, but her father has other ideas in mind. Now, with duties to follow but contrasting passions, Zelda finds herself stuck and burdened. Notes: 1. This takes place in BOTW after the Divine Beasts were discovered but before Zelda visited the springs 2. Cover art and LOZ are not mine 3. Maybe just imagine that in this story Link is just a tad bit taller than Zelda 4. This timeline is a mix between Pre-Calamity BOTW and also the Age of Calamity game in the sense that Link was appointed Zelda's personal knight, but hadn't pulled the master sword, and that the Champions were appointed before Link pulled it.

Even though you're a relatively new member to the Yiga Clan compared to some others, and you tend to keep to yourself, you've already been able to prove yourself as invaluable and quite strong. Lord Sooga, the right hand to the almighty Master Kohga, has heard tell of your valor and strength, so he searches you out during a training session to see himself. With the Kingdom being left so long without a monarch, will all of Hyrule unite under one banner once again? Months ago, an unknown virus broke out, turning Hyruleans into decaying corpses. Panic erupted throughout the nation, as more bitten Hyruleans turned, and soon, the affected areas were sealed off to prevent further spread. The situation seems bleak. All connection to the outside world has been cut off. The radios and TVs had gone out weeks ago. No news of help, supply crates, or evacuations. You don't even know if there is some semblance of normal life outside anymore, and it's certain that no one is coming to look for survivors. Now, it's just Link and you, the zombies, and whatever you can salvage from the wreckage that had been left in the mass panic. Perhaps there are other survivors out there. Now recruited as the sixth champion of Hyrule, it is her duty to protect the princess, and aid in the upcoming battle with Calamity Ganon. With the close friends she makes along the way, will she manage to defeat Ganon, or will she face an undesirable fate? This is a Botw x reader story. The main focus of this plot is not romance, however there are a few romantic interests that can be made more relevant to the plot if requested. Also, I will be using the second tense (You/yours). This is to make you feel more immersed in the story, and make it a little more gender-neutral, however the intended gender for y/n is female. But who knows, in the unlikely event that this story becomes popular, I could release versions with different genders. I have a big plan for this story, however I am an incredibly lazy person, so updates may not be that frequent (I'm very sorry, please stay).
