The Prince of Naxos, the devil with the sea in his hands and power in his veins, never bothered to worry about marriage. Especially after he had found unexpected love with the woman offered to him as a "gift", Andromeda. But when an alliance benefitting his island is offered by the Maharaj Yashovarman of Svarnagara, he reluctantly accepts. Surely, his daughter would understand that he gave his heart to someone else, and would not love her the same way? He would provide her with wealth, respect, and a title - just not pure adoration.
Wrong.
Princess Sanyukta was everything *but* understanding. At first impression Perseus could feel the disgust crawling up his throat - for she was the most despicable lady he had ever met. Inconsiderate, brash, and clearly spoiled, Sanyukta was a thorn on his side, a wildfire refusing to back down from his tides, the sin with an angel's masquerade. No matter how many times he tried to avoid her, she stood fierce and headstrong, dark as the night sky.
And maybe it's in the cards, for Sanyukta swore to herself that she would rather get consumed by his jaws than leave the chessboard.
TW: Since it's the acient times, there will be objectification of women, foul language, and some violence.
