Retsuko secretly knows she is still chasing her happiness: her purpose in the world, a career where she can utilize her undermined talents, and possibly even someone to love unconditionally. But the road of life isn't one without its hardships and risks. And there comes a time when one must realize it cannot be fixed with a simple song or two blasting from the karaoke machine. This fic establishes what I wish would have happened between Retsuko and Haida on one of those days where she just had been given too much work to do by Ton (or that weird lizard lady...) and Haida had felt too badly for her... if you would like to read more of the spicy type fics, this will sadly only be fluff for now, and it's because I just wanted to establish how their relationship realistically could get set up in the first place. Tsunoda is sick at home, and Komiya comes to visit her and make sure she's ok. This story is based off of the implications of a promotional image featuring the characters.

Komiya is a strict no-nonsense accountant desperate to climb the corporate ladder. But when he meets Tsunoda, the bubbly new recruit in the office, she helps him reevaluate his doldrum life and they form a friendship that leaves them both drastically changed. A new girl joins the accounting department, a cute rabbit named Usami. Retsuko doesn't think much of it until she realizes that Fenneko and Haida are starting to hang out with her a lot more than usual. Every passing day grows the urge to scream some death metal...until she sees a familiar rabbit in the karaoke, in which things begin to get weird.
