Acidrain Stories

A collection of short sci-fi stories depicting how the world ended and a few pieces looking into the minds of some of the survivors. Keep in mind I will most likely upload some connecter chapters later on to change this into a single flowing story.

Mada; a city with an appearance as austere as its rules. No bright colours in sight, no laughter, singing, dancing, or fun. But most of all, no mistakes. Ruled by a woman with many secrets, the city is forced to thrive for perfection. In Mada, one wrong decision, one wrong step, or one failed attempt means certain and excruciating death. Young Cammi Rowan is unhappy with her limited life. Alongside her brother, closest friend, a little girl, and the boy she secretly loves, Cammi must take on The Wall of Mada in order to escape and reach the freedom of the outside world. Little does she know, this decision will change everything. As it turns out, Cammi and her friends find themselves TRAPPED IN FREEDOM.

(On Hold) Mary has always felt out of place in her own life. Everything she does is dubbed creepy or wrong by her teachers, her classmates, even her own family. But one drop of water can change everything. There's a virus in the rain. That's all anybody knows. It can kill someone with one touch. Nothing is safe anymore. But as she watches the very roots of her world fracture around her, she realises something. She's immune to the disease.

Annabeth. Connor. Two kids filled with youthful innocence, ignorance and idiotic ideas, but in a world commanded with political leaders with their choices deciding the lives of others, these two adolescent have the chance to change these political leaders, or at least their choices. They are thrown into a world battered with horrific rain, tearing the gap between the wealthy and the poor, these two attempt to pursuit what they think is right. Or at least whoever is winning the argument thinks is right.

When Ali starts hearing voices she worries that she might not be safe anymore. She had no idea what would come next...

The day she told me that I'de been confused. My grandma had never said that word before in her life, no one had. Her saying it changed everything. That was my first hint, I should have listened. 'ARE YOU LISTENING?' This is an ecological message carried in the form of an #acrostic poem, a #poetic story if you like. The title came by accident a typo when chatting on #WattPadd with one of my many #PoetsPub friends some months ago, it was my intention dedicate it to her, but my aging memory is a neurological (an ecological) disaster and in its wasteland, sadly her name can't be found. So if you find yourself reading this, please remind me and I'll correct the error of my ways. But, more importantly, it is a reminder to the human race, to you, to heed the obvious warnings of this planets impending fate, no don't turn a blind eye because it's not in your field of view. Its the primary focus of the prevalent ecological issue contained in the #NationalGeographic challenge #PlanetOrPlastic to communicate the effects of plastic waste, upon our seas and oceans. However, this message cuts across a number of issues like inane #Politics, #Global warming, #Acid #Rain, #Fracking and #Nuclear #Waste, each of which is equally damning, with its own primary focus '#SavethePlanet'.
