[Watty Awards Finalist 2013] The virus has begun. A deadly virus that destroys humanity. A virus that replaces the living with creatures that crave human flesh. As the human race dwindles, an unlikely group of young survivors battle against the odds to live. But what they're about to realise is that some things are even more dangerous than the creatures they face...themselves.

How We Died is kind of a spin-off of Mandy's Last Day...a continuation of how a variety of people died as the world falls. The caveat here is that, it may not always be in the world of Mandy, it may be something else as the mood strikes me. This will be an ongoing project that will likely have a mix of longer short stories and flash fiction, perhaps even something along the lines of micro-fiction, if that is, indeed, such a thing. Anyway, this will be updated when a new story strikes me. The first one is some of that previously mentioned micro-fiction. :)

Brayden parents force him to take a pill everyday but one day he forgets to take it, he realizes his parents never existed and the reality around him changes entirely......... A person plagued by voices and paranoia kills his friend Robert, suspecting him of mistrust after installing a CCTV camera. He buries Robert in the backyard and manipulates the CCTV footage to avoid detection. When the police investigate Robert's disappearance, the protagonist hallucinates Robert accusing him of murder and confesses. Despite his confession, he continues to be haunted by Robert's voice and hallucinations, driving him further into madness.

"The first to go was our sanity, the next our kin, and now our lives." The water that humans have relied on for hundreds of years has finally been contaminated. An experimental drug-never tested, yet expected to be sold as a mass poison on the black market-has been unleashed and merged with the very water we have been drinking our whole lives. With the contaminated water having deadly side affects on humans, Ashwyn is forced to leave her home and sanity behind, and instead place her trust in 4 teenagers just as naive and confused as she is.
