"Dear Evan Hansen" is a musical and novel about a high school senior who suffers from severe anxiety and, secretly, depression. When classmate Connor Murphy steals a letter Evan writes to himself as an assignment for his therapist and then proceeds to kill himself, his parents mistake it for a suicide note. Evan is now faced with the challenge of keeping his secret private and trying to help the Murphys. In "Another World," Evan's letter is different, failing to mention Connor's sister and Evan's crush, Zoe. Instead of getting mad, Connor recognizes that Evan, like himself, is suffering from depression. Now the story takes a different turn, and an unlikely friendship comes into being.

So the Connor project happened a year ago. Evan is on speaking terms with Zoe but they are hardly friends. Cynthia and Larry don't want anything to do with Evan, nor do Jared or Alana. Heidi is the only one who still has a good relationship with Evan. They are transpaorted to the Music Box theatre to watch Dear Evan Hansen, the musical about them. CW; suicide attempt, homophobia, homophobic slurs, depression, anxiety, etc. This is basically just a super cheesy and mushy fanfic involving Connor and Evan from DEH. There might also be some Jared x Alana in here as well, but I haven't quite made up my mind yet. This is an AU where Connor never died when he tried to take his own life, so there won't be any death-angst. There will eventually be a suicide attempt by Connor for reasons I haven't figured out yet.

Evan has always felt like no one was there for him most of his life. Evan hasn't had any friends and feels lonely most of the time and his anxiety doesn't help him with those feelings.
