The novel, Daniella, chronicles the odyssey of a teenage orphan who is raised by her grandparents in the village. She has always longed for one thing: to leave her lusterless village to explore new horizons in the city. And when the news comes that she will be moving to Lagos with Aunt Carolina, her joy knows no bounds as she thinks that she is on her way to paradise. What she, however, fails to realize is that the road leading to hell is tarred with ignorance. Amidst Daniella's helluva experience in Lagos, she meets with three teenagers in Damien College who made her stay a little less rueful - or so she thought. With these trio, friendship builds; they also break. Hearts melts; they also wrench. One thing is for sure: lessons are learned. This is a story of self-discovery, perseverance, family relationship, friendship, betrayal, sexuality, child abuse and the drama of high school.

Who believes in love? I do not. What is love? A possessive feeling that causes pain to everyone around it. This is my definition. What's yours?? I didn't grow up on a bed of roses but of course, everyone thought my family was the ideal family but that's what they see on the outside. On the inside?? Well, I'd rather not say. This is not your typical romance story that ends with a happily ever after. Unfortunately, mine has no happily ever after because I'm too shattered to pick up the pieces and start afresh.
