Bob has got to be the worst vampire in the world. Without a guide to learn how to be a good vampire, he's making it up as he goes along... while holding down a day job. [Previously Featured #2 Vampire ] ***** Everything I'm about to tell you is a lie. Well, except the parts that actually happened, but I'm supposed to let you guess which those are. The parts about me being a vampire, working at a porn shop, and being completely clueless about vampires, those are completely true. Oh, the parts about Claude, my best friend for life, being a gentleman thief? All true. This is NOT a misguided and sordid tell-all about being a modern-day vampire. (wink wink) My vampire club for accidental vampires, Friends of Vlad does not exist. Neither do vampires like the terrifying and beautiful Beatrice. There is no big bad vampire boss named Harry pushing vampires into the 21st Century. Also nope about the vampire club in the heart of Toronto and a big nope on Madame Vera's House of the Not-so-dead. I'm just an ordinary guy who became a vampire. Nothing unusual about that. Nothing at all... [BOOK ONE of CHASING THE SUN SERIES] REVIEWS: @DavidJThirteen Humour has to be one of the toughest genres to get right. This book really pulls it off. Thank you for an enjoyable, entertaining read! @SharylFriend This was awesome beyond mere words!!! Should be a BESTSELLER! @Signed_Sealed_96 This has been by far the best and funniest book I've read. I love this and I can't wait to tell my friends about this b'%&hing vampire story I read nonstop.

One of the most *frequently asked questions* I get from readers of my published novels: "Was Dear Martin the first book you ever wrote?" The answer is no. Dear Martin was the third. The second (at long last!) will be published in Spring 2022, but the first will never see the light of day... Or so I used to say. *Used to* because we are currently in the thick of a literal global pandemic. And we're bored. And trying to stay motivated/encouraged/hopeful, etc. etc. So here it is. Nic Stone's first EVER novel that wasn't supposed to see the light of day. Starting today, April 1st, 2020, I'll post a chapter a day for the next 50 days (you read that right; this joint is LONG) and will leave it up indefinitely. You will laugh--AT me, but also occasionally with me. You will roll your eyes. You will have moments when you wonder if *The Nic Stone* actually wrote this long and intensely tropey and cliche book. About a 16-year-old biracial girl who sometimes glows in the dark, and after the death of her mother, discovers not only some latent supernatural abilities, but a prophesied mission she'll need them for. It is not professionally edited and is likely full of typos (though this was like the twelfth draft). It hasn't been beta-read and probably has some problematic rep in it. But my hope is that by posting it as-is, someone out there who doesn't feel *good enough* will see THIS starting point of a #1 New York Times bestseller and will be encouraged to get the story nagging at them down on paper. Even if it's never "published," there's no telling where it could lead. I hope you enjoy (or at least get a good laugh). Thanks for reading! Nic Stone

Alisa Anderson and Ethan Adams weren't really friends when they were kids. In fact, he used to tease her horribly and made her life a living hell until they were twelve years old. So when he moves back to sunny San Diego after spending five and a half years in Portland with his mom, Alisa's more than a little weary of him. But whether she'd like to admit it or not, Ethan's changed... for the better. Senior year's starting and with senior year comes many changes. While her friends move on and begin to drift further away from her, Alisa's finds that new relationships are also beginning to form. And who better to start a new 'friendship' with than a super annoying (and very flirty) Ethan Adams? (2012-2013) First draft completed on 10th March 2013. (August 2017- August 2019) Second draft completed on 5th August 2019.

"Why is this so important to you?" "Just drop it please, Jamie." "No, I wanna know, okay? I wanna know why you want so desperately to fit in when you obviously don't, Delilah." "Because I don't wanna be forgotten. I don't wanna be forgotten, okay? I just can't be forgotten again and this is the solution. Happy now?" Great, so now I was crying. I, Delilah Clementime, the unbreakable cheerleader and golden girl of high school, was crying. And crying in front of the Jamie Dunn, at that. What led me to this point in my life? :) Delilah Clementine is high school's golden girl. Leading in with being the captain of the cheer squad, nailing the audition in drama club, having the perfect argument in debate class, and being at the end of her book for the library's book club. On the outside she seems to living the life that only happens in the movies or in the fantasies most girls only imagine. The only difference is that Delilah's slowing breaking on the inside since she's starting to step outside of the facade she's worked so hard to build since freshman year. Then, let's cue the opposite. James Dunn is the school's cliche. The wannabe football star who settled for point guard on the school's basketball team. Not necessarily the best start for senior year and giving up any chance at having a scholarship for the sport he's worked so desperately to achieve. Well, at least he still had this whole 'high school heartbreaker' reputation to count on. Delilah and James's worlds collide when they start to see each other in another light at one of the biggest events at Declan High School. The school's charity carnival that starts with rides and fun but ends in a food fight and an odd friendship. Or maybe a little more?
