But they stayed. She knew he had something else to say-so as he held her hand, as she let it be held, as she held his in return, as he let it happen-she waited. "What about your life?" Immediately following Episode VIII, this is my idea of what might happen between Kylo and Rey. What if his own troops rise against Ben, and begin to attack the Resistance without his orders? What if Rey and Ben find themselves fighting the same enemy? The Force bond kept the other far away, but what will happen when they are forced together?

Rey takes a new job as the Personal Assistant to Ben Solo, the new CEO of Alderaan Publishing house in New York City following the retirement of her previous boss, Leia Organa. After meeting and flirting with her boss in the airport not realizing who he really is, Rey and Ben find themselves stuck between fighting their desire for each other and trying to maintain their integrity as professionals. His eyes narrowed as he stared at this women who wouldn't stop trying to defy him. She felt her pulse quicken and she sucked in a breath, she was not afraid of him. Arrogance would kill her one day and Rey was finally beginning to believe it. "You're nothing." He growled, nearing his face inches from hers. Rey swallowed, her throat was bone dry as those cruel words left his lips. Then Ben's dark and intense eyes met her's, "but not to me." -- Go the Distance: a term in boxing, meaning to fight to the final bell or the duration of an entire fight... Ben Solo. Grew up in a seemingly privileged household. Growing up with his parents active and respected in the military made his life appear perfect, from the outside looking in. But that couldn't be further from the truth. Ben has been neglected his whole life and at twenty-two, he has followed in the footsteps of his uncle and is the defending world champion boxer for two years. But although he seems to have it all, he is cold and distant from everyone. Until he meets her... Rey. Grew up a scavenger on the streets since she was five. Scrappy and witty she doesn't take any crap from anyone nor does she allow herself to get close with anyone either. The only people she is remotely close with are her friends Finn and Poe. Rey finds herself in recurring street fights, and she loves the fight. What she doesn't know is how lonely she really is and that all changes when she meets him... A post "The Rise of Skywalker" story. Months have passed since the end of the war against Emperor Palpatine, since Rey lost her dyad in the Force, Ben Solo, and found a new home on the Lars's moisture farm on Tatooine. Ever since she settled in on the desert planet, Rey started training a new order of Jedi, teaching them about the balance of the Force, taking her mind off of what happened on Exegol until after her lessons, because that's when she tries to reach out in the Force to search for him. For Ben Solo. But even after months of trying to reach out to him day after day, Rey still fails, believing he doesn't want to see her. She is frustrated and desperate, and about to give up hope until she finds out about a place existing within the Force, a place existing between time and space: the world between worlds. Could Ben be stuck in the world between worlds? Could he have been alive after all? And can Rey bring him back? All characters and planets are from Lucasfilm/Disney. Sometimes they appear in front of the other at the worst of times, and every time that it is a better time they get closer and closer until a new feeling strikes their heart. How will they ever cope; one minute they are sitting on their beds fiddling with their lightsabers, the next, one of them has shown up and it now sitting next to them. Set just after Last Jedi. This is a one-shot that takes place after the events of tros, but with ben still alive. He gives her a present on her birthday and Rey wonders how he knew it was her birthday if she didn't even know, and he tells her. This is filled with hurt and redemption. Growth and comfort. It's basically our babies needing each other and finding solace in each others arms.

Continuation of The Rise of Skywalker. Rey thinks she's found a way to bring Ben back from the dead, but at what cost.
