After his actions when dealing with a suspect come under scrutiny, Officer Alex Walton begins to feel abandoned by his department and his community. Everyone seems to think he went too far, but they weren't there. His life and the lives of others were in danger. Why didn't they understand that? The community demands justice for the perceived excessive force incident. Tensions are growing and Alex knows that it's only going to get worse. But when she starts receiving threats from an anonymous source, she turns to Alex, suspecting it's someone in his department. When Alyssa disappears one night, Alex knows that he has to come forward with his findings to the chief of police. The only question is if anybody will believe him. Desperate to get his friend back, he begins an off the radar investigation into the events of the past two weeks, searching for any clues to either find their suspect or confirm his suspicions. When he does find out who it is, he has to decide what he is going to do and what moral he is most willing to give up: loyalty or honesty.

Law enforcement officers are the sheepdogs, holding back the vicious wolves from the sheep, often thanklessly.
