A Denver city councilman is found dead, and the Denver Metropolitan Police Department is frustratingly lost on how to proceed. There are no leads, no clear pieces of evidence, and nothing more than a mysterious untimely death. In desperation, the DMPD enlists the help of Dr. William Curtis McDowell, a prominent scientist, former deputy marshal of the Arizona territory, and professor at the Colorado School of Mines. Along with his fellow ex- deputy marshal and wife, Patience “Patches” McDowell, he works to solve a crime that looks more and more like murder. Each day brings more dangerous complications; more related deaths occur, and several attempts are made to assassinate Dr. Bill, making it clear that someone out there doesn’t want them involved. At the same time, exciting new discoveries in the vital field of forensic science and psychology are being discovered. Dr. Bill and Patches will risk their lives to discover that even in a child’s fairy tale, there can be killing dreams.

(Go vote for the cover in Sons of Liberty University (one of my other Hamilton books)! There are two choices; the current cover is one of them) "WE'RE GOING DOWN!" someone screamed. The blood drained from Alex's face as he realized what that meant. There was no such thing as surviving an airship crash. It had never been done. A thousand pounds of steel and fire falling from the sky, like an asteroid striking the surface of the Earth, could never hold any survivors. "I'm sorry, Lafayette," Alex whispered, a hollow pit of terror forming in his stomach. "I guess we'll never get to see New York." ----- When Alexander and Lafayette are found in the wreckage of a fallen airship in Victorian New York, the two find out that there's more than just a revolution brewing. Namely, for Alexander, a wandering artist named John Laurens. (NOTICE: I believe that this is the first Hamilton Steampunk AU on Wattpad (correct me if I'm wrong). I thought of this idea whilst at a sleepover at @eriizen's house. She's cool, and she's helping me with some of the character design in this. Go and check her out!)

This steampunk fairytale was inspired by Jakub Rozalksi's amazing artwork, in particular 'Retired Veteran 1920' (https://www.artstation.com/artwork/Le2wk), which Jakub has been kind enough to allow me to use as the cover art. Follow the link to see more amazing pictures. The story is written in the traditional fairytale style, with the traditional fairytale structure. In May 2017, I published 'The Outlaws of Kratzenfels', which is similar to this, but different...
