At first glance, nobody would be able to tell that Nathaniel Jean had a problem. Or second glance, or third, or fourth. After all, he had everything. He was a captain of his school's soccer team and one of the top players in the state. He had a big house and money to spend. He had family, he had friends, he had fun, he had faith. He never meant for it to happen. He never wanted to look at another man in the way he should have been looking at a woman. The idea had disgusted him for most of his life - living in a heavily Catholic town with heavily Catholic parents, homophobia was the only response he knew. That didn't change when he first realized that he didn't like girls. No, Nathaniel Jean was still homophobic. He hated the idea of a man sleeping with another man. He was raised on the notion that all gays went to hell, and he believed it. He despised them, and so he despised himself. Nathaniel Jean was more fortunate than most, because help did arrive for him. Help by the name of Lucas Morgan, they boy he'd always known but never known. The boy with big dreams and bigger talent. The boy that changed Nathaniel's life over the course of their thirty-six week long senior year.

Nico is the "scary" kid in high school. He is covered in tattoos, has piercings peppering his features, and wears nothing but punk, black clothes. He shows no emotion to anyone but his sister, Hazel, and he has no friends at school- not that he tries to make any. Will solace is popular, happy, and always overly optimistic. He has a million friends. He knows almost everyone is his grade and gets along with nearly everyone he meets. He loves doing volunteer work in the hospital and playing volleyball and basketball. He experiences the "typical high school experience". Until he doesn't. When Will and Nico meet, everything changes for both boys. Nico has lived with that term all his life. Psychopath. He knew it was muttered behind his back when he walked through school. Thats how the world saw him. The boy who hears voices, the guy who talks to himself. Everyone defined him by his mental illness, and no one had ever bothered to know him. The word wasn't even accurate. Having schizophrenia was a pain sometimes, but it didn't mean Nico was crazy, even if the voices told him he was. The real ones, and the ones in his mind. The only person he could ever consider a friend would be his psychologist (aka his therapist), Jenny, who he had grown a strong connection with over the 4 years he had been going to see her. He didn't trust anyone else. Nico knew that no one would look past it all like she does. That is, until Will Solace enters the picture, the happy go lucky college student striving to be a therapist. What could go wrong? . This is a solangelo fan fiction and will have swearing, mental illnesses and there may be triggering moments that will have warnings. I will hopefully capture Nico's point of view accurately, and what he his going through, but I have never experienced schizophrenia so it may not be perfect. . Kinda going through editing? After a tiring, odd quest for normalcy at a high school, Nico and Will would like nothing more to just hang out and cuddle in the Hades cabin. Instead, they find that they missed some large attack-leaving the camp in a pretty sad state, and the Infirmary packed. And Will seems to be refusing to stop working in said Infirmary.
