They also have a job for him, one he isn't sure he can do in a world where up is down and animals speaking are more common than people. He is told he must defeat the Queen of Hearts if he is to go home, otherwise he can never leave. Alice wonders if he can really do it.

He's grappling for any semblance of sanity, but his feet aren't on the ground anymore. He's on the verge of drinking himself to death when he has an unexpected intervention.
