when Evan Buckley a young firefighter finds out he has cancer he must do something he never liked to do, lean on his friends and family to get him through it. he leans on his best friend Eddie Diaz the most and friendship soon turns into love but will the love be strong enough to save Evan before its too late

"Somethings wrong, Eddie. This isn't Buck," she whispered and Eddie closed his eyes, his hand tightening on his cup. "I know. But he won't talk to me, about anything. He hasn't even texted me a 2am random fact in weeks," he said and Hen made a small noise. "Hen, you knew Tommy before," he said slowly, Hen's shoulders tightening. "I did. And that's why Karen and I gave him the shovel talk at the award ceremony, I know what he's like," she said and Eddie finally looked up. ~~~~~~~ Buck hasn't been Buck in weeks. Hen and Eddie are worried, so they go to check on him.

A sudden, bright flash had him flinching, a red hot burning entering his hands. Sparks flew as he was flung back, his hands and chest burning as he landed hard on his back. His heart beat was loud in his ears, audible under the ringing daze as his head spun. One, and a two, and a three... He rolled over with a groan, scrambling for his helmet. He got it on and looked up, breath catching at the sight of Buck hanging motionless from the ladder. "Buck!" Or Eddie got struck by the same bolt of lightning that stopped Buck's heart. And now he's finding emotions filling his chest every time he touches Buck. But they're not his emotions, so what the hell is going on?

They were in a happy, blissful bubble. Even Eddie's parents had accepted Buck after weeks of questioning Eddie. First time they'd seen Buck expertly handle Christopher during one of his teenage tantrums, they knew Buck was good for them. So that's why when Eddie came home to find Buck packing with tears in his eyes, he was completely blindsided. ~~~~~~~ Eddie and Buck had been together 3 months when everything fell apart.
