Lance McClain was burdened with a lot of things; anxiety, fretful thoughts, a bad home life... But his obsession with stars was not, what he'd consider, a burden. He was infatuated with gazing upon those burning balls of plasma, situated million of miles away from his touch. Lance would take up any offer just to stare at them, even when handed the slimmest of chances. Even when - realistically - there wasn't a way to see them. Even if the only spot to see stars were in a city, with hundreds of other artificial lights surrounding him, drowning out the natural brilliance of the real lights strung up far in the sky above. Stars offered him a comfort that no one else could - he much rather preferred the purple and blue tint of the sky compared to the marks of purple and blue on his skin. He himself was blue; figuratively, yes, but he also cherished the colour and adorned it on many of his things. So when a certain red mixes in with his life and offers him guidance and support, will a new meaning of colour embellish their lives? a/n: I did not create these characters or 'Voltron: Legendary Defender'. Credit to creation of such characters like those mentioned in my fanfic go to Dreamworks.

~"I am going back to Earth," I promise myself as I sit in the castle of lions. "Nothing will stop me from going home." ~ After being captured by Zarkon, Casey Anderson is rescued and recruited by team Voltron to be their new mechanic. Casey is less than thrilled about her situation. She has one desire: return home, where aliens don't exist and the gravity doesn't turn itself off. But when she meets Lance McClain her mission is comprimised. Torn between Earth and team Voltron, Casey tries to make an impossible decision; stay and become a defender of the universe or go home, betraying her new friends? This fanfiction is loosely based around the episodes in season 2 (spoiler alert). Casey is an OC, I do not own Voltron or any of its characters.

How could someone live in a world where everyone has a mark that explains their personalities but yours is just... wrong. That's how Lance lives everyday. He has the mark of Meaning, a mark that shows that he knows what he wants to do and enjoys his life. A mark that shows that he will always be there for others, helping them. A mark that... doesn't represent him. But, he didn't want to burden anyone with the idea that he was unhappy, so he hides behind his happy little mask, not letting anyone know of his struggle. But Keith, a kid that Lance meets while they were in the Garrison and became friends, and rivals, with, notices that... the mark doesn't match. That is one of his traits, perception. Will Keith be able to really do anything about it? Or will he just let his friend live out his life as a sad, misread hologram of the person that is really there? (I do not own Voltron, the characters or the cover art)
