Seattle, 1988.
The rain is constant-and the music is just as relentless.
Alexis has everything planned out down to the last detail: pass her finals, earn her business degree, and keep her family from sinking. She can't afford distractions. No detours. Especially not the kind that walk in with long hair, a dangerous voice, and a strange habit of stealing purple Sharpies.
But when her little sister starts sneaking out to catch shows by a band called Soundgarden, Alexis finds herself pulled into a world she never intended to touch-one of dimly lit dive bars, crushing guitar riffs, and a local scene that feels like it's right on the verge of an explosion.
And then there's Chris.
He's tall, intense, and frustratingly confident. He looks like nothing but trouble, but he sounds like a melody she can't shake from her head. What begins as pure irritation slowly shifts into curiosity... and then into something much harder to push away.
As late nights bleed into stolen moments and their sharp-tongued bickering turns into undeniable chemistry, Alexis is forced to choose between two different lives-one built on the weight of responsibility, and the other on something raw, electric, and completely unpredictable.
Because in a city standing on the edge of something massive, sometimes the greatest risk...is letting yourself fall right into the center of it.
