"My name's Hugh, your narrator. I'm 17 years old and I've been trapped in this novel my entire life. Rated MATURE for language, heavy themes, and suggestive dialogue. NOTE: This story has been updated for a new draft! This is a meta fiction novel that I've been wanting to write for a long time. It's the first installment of a four-part series. All the characters, themes, and plot-points have been mapped out. All that's left now is for me to write it down.

I want to represent each spirit in a short tale, so each chapter I'll be focusing on one spirit existing in the physical realm. I hope you enjoy each one, and yes all these are cannon to the main Spirits story. I'm going to remind all my readers that these stories will be darker than what I normally wright. Cannibalism, murder, torture, foul language, sexual constructs (probably for one Spirit?), and many other details that some readers will be put off by. You have been warned. . .but come on most of my work is tame so enjoy the stories.

"The Picture of Dorian Gray" tells of a young man named Dorian Gray, the subject of a painting by artist Basil Hallward. Basil is impressed by Dorian's beauty and becomes infatuated with him, believing his beauty is responsible for a new mode in his art. Dorian meets Lord Henry Wotton, a friend of Basil's, and becomes enthralled by Lord Henry's world view. Espousing a new hedonism, Lord Henry suggests the only things worth pursuing in life are beauty and fulfilment of the senses.
