Opal Helen Richardson had never particularly liked Peter Pevensie.
He was arrogant, stubborn, quick-tempered, and somehow always managed to get on her nerves. As far as Opal was concerned, being friends with his sister Susan was more than enough reason to tolerate him.
Then one afternoon at a railway station, the wind begins to blow.
One moment, Opal is standing in England beside the four Pevensie siblings.
The next, she's standing barefoot on the shores of a world that shouldn't exist.
Narnia.
A world where animals speak, castles lie in ruins, and the four ordinary siblings she thought she knew are remembered as legendary Kings and Queens.
Including Peter.
High King Peter the Magnificent.
Pulled into a war that isn't hers, Opal should want nothing more than to find a way home. Instead, she finds herself falling in love with Narnia. She learns to wield a sword, discovers courage she never knew she possessed, and begins to understand the boy behind the crown.
And somewhere between arguments, battles, and stolen moments, the person she once couldn't stand becomes the person she can't imagine leaving behind.
But Peter's return to Narnia was never meant to last.
And when the time comes for the High King to leave his crown behind forever, he may discover that there is something-or someone-waiting for him in England after all.
Peter Pevensie × OC
"You may have been Peter the Magnificent here, but I knew you before the crown."
"And which Peter do you prefer?"
Opal smiled.
"I'll let you know when I decide."
