"I'm never going to play fair when it comes to you, little bird," he pressed his lips onto her crinkled forehead. "Hide, pretty girl. I'll find you." * Alpha Murdock Boudreaux only possesses one weakness: the young human Dove, his seventeen-year-old daughter; the only surviving blood of her maternal family. Her father minimized her contact with wolves to the few members of their pack. Unfortunately for the both of them, a Wanderer, a lone wolf incompatible with others but still hungry for aggression and territory, finds himself in the middle of Boudreaux's borders and irreversibly enamored with his daughter. "Do you know what metal this knife is made of?" My breaths were coming out in ragged wheezes, sounding garbled as my windpipe fought around the blood in my mouth. "No, sir." "It's silver." Another round of tears sprung loose from my eyes, and my hands curled into fists. How could I be so stupid? I could hear the smile in his voice, "Do you know what I am going to use this knife for, girl?" When I tried to speak, all that came out was a strained sob. A round of laughter erupted from the table, the council reveling in my torture. "I'm sorry, pet, I couldn't hear you," Alpha unhooked the back of my dress, exposing his canvas. A tremor racked my body, nearly seizing my vocal cords, "For carving into my body, sir." "Correct." +++ Copyright© to -hickman

When nut house escapee, Ellix CeAcie consumes a purple flower in a blur of hunger, he alters into a shape shifting wolf, blood thirsty and wild, held at The Moon's will. Immediately, his life is more complicated as he is confronted by other rogues that compete for loose territory, hunters that are out to get any werewolf's ass, and packs that look at rogues in disgust rather than sympathy. When hunters run him up near a pack in the South, he catches the whiff of an aroma that calls out to his soul and his stranger wolf. Brielle Weathers is the strongest wolf in her pack, the strongest wolf in the region. She's trained to be who she is, under strict observation from her uptight mother, Brittany. Brittany claims she wants the best for her daughter, but when she demands that Brielle can't mate with a weak rogue such as Ellix, a balance starts to shift in the pack. Brielle makes it her ultimate goal to train Ellix up from a psychopathic rogue with an urge to kill, to a strong alpha male with an urge to protect, before her time runs out and her mother makes her decision.

"No, you have it wrong," she whispers in a voice light enough to mistake for empty wind; her hands frame either side of his clenching jaw, tightening until they stop trembling. "I am the wolf." * Seventeen year-old Dove Ramsay is doomed, or at least-- that's what every preacher in a thousand mile radius is cramming down every believer's throat. It's end of times, the days are numbered, and the only hope for any of humankind is salvation. The existence of werewolves has become a fact accepted globally, and the fear of them just as obvious. A rag-tag pack manages to pass through Dove's hometown of Thistle, bringing a trail of blood, dirty money, and a new way to pass time in a place where there's nothing to do but wait for another empty weekend. As everyone around the teenager warns her to stay away from the strange Alpha, Dove realizes he's something she's never been able to find in the lonely town. He's a temptation Dove refuses to resist.

As they try to maneuver their way through mourning and learning to live without Ethan, they realize something much more menacing than a potential-murderer has made its home in Argent Grove. "Didn't they teach you not to run from wolves, darlin'?" Before the western werewolf, before fear became a common friend, before humans were scared of the dark- there were the Adlets. Descended from the first shapeshifter, beast and man are conjured into one, hidden deep within the soils of the harsh Alaskan forests. Surviving off of the land and secluding themselves by keeping outsiders away- the Adlets become unhealthily intrigued by the Mavericks, a lonely family of three. After patiently waiting years for Rory and Rowan Maverick, the only son and daughter of a fearless woman named Rowena, to turn eighteen- the twins unknowingly fall prey to every unmated Adlet. Unfortunately, Rory's and Rowan's problems are much more complicated than a pack of wild shifters trying to vie for their affections. It begins much deeper, as deep as the very blood in their bodies.
