Let God have mercy on us. That was the last thing that aired across a Louisiana news broadcast the day the world went to shit. With gangs, geeks, and scientist roaming the main roads, no where is safe. Welcome to the post apocalypse. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The roads were filled with graves. Not your normal tombstones, a name and date, a loving memory carved on the stones. These graves were cars, bodies, a small doll that a child had left behind, body and soul. Most them were busted up, a window missing or cracked. Some were intact with as but no one to drive it. Everyone was gone, dead and walking. It was horrible yet deserved. Humanity had earned all that had been served to them. This was they're doom and God no longer held mercy. It was the living against the dead, out number 1 to 500 last time it was counted. But that was months ago. I feel like I'm all that's left, the only one with a beating heart. But I prayed to god it was a lie.

My thoughts in poems. I'm not suicidal or even truly unhappy. I'm just confused and lost and I hope someone out there understands. These are the everyday thoughts I have that float around in my mind. My views have changed since beginning this collection and it would be much appreciated if you, reader, would keep that in mind while reading. I don't like editing after I've written and most of this has remained untouched since publication. We all change though. These are feeling in moments of passion, not utter truth, and no, not brilliance despite what I've been told. I know otherwise. Do not fall fate to the trap of these words and think everything through before accepting any of someone else's opinion even if it sounds good and true the first time reading or hearing it. I am not perfect by far and I've made mistakes. ALWAYS keep this in mind. 2020 edit: I'm going on 22 now, and honestly I wish I had the spunk of when I was 17. Hot damn. Also I'm transgender and at the time of writing this, I hadn't come out or even found out that was possible so there's a lot of misgendering of myself that I'm editing. I don't edit usually but I'm sick of people calling me she in the comments. They or he please. 2022: they/them only now please. He/him pronouns are pissing me off lately.

Josie Brown has no idea the Organic Food Store next door is haunted. Until he sees the rotting, shrieking ghost baby in the paper towel aisle. Then the nightmares start. The little girl across the street disappears from her bed. And Josie wakes up in her room the night she goes missing. Just about everyone in Sydney, Australia - including his workaholic parents and ambivalent teachers - thinks Josie is stealing the kids of Tamarama Street. It isn't long before the police, reporters, and a mob of angry kids are accusing the weird, quiet 14-year-old of being a monster. And Josie is starting to think they might be right. Only two people might believe him - Emerald, the new girl and daughter of the great marine biologist, who has been tracking the children's disappearances, and Manhattan, surf star, intimidating wild girl, and sister of one of the missing kids.
