When Castiel’s plans for the summer get cancelled and he’s left with nowhere else to go, Dean invites him to go home with him. It seems an easy solution to cure Castiel’s summer blues, but when they arrive at the Winchester household, Dean realizes due to a slight miscommunication with his mom he and Castiel will have to spend the summer sharing a bed and holding hands because the entire Winchester family thinks they’re dating. And really it shouldn't be that big of a deal because Dean Winchester isn't actually in love with his best friend; except for that he is.

As a cut off angel, it's hard to blend in with the normal crowd. However, Castiel is doing quite fine, outliving everyone else as a simple cashier at the local Gas 'n Sip. Sure, he may never understand humans, but it's a privilege to watch them go about their simple lives, while never progressing in his own. Castiel knew Dean would do anything for his club, the club was like his family. He never asked about the things Dean got up to as he thought he would be better off not knowing. However the more Dean tells him, the more aspects of Castiel's old, secret life begin to prop up out of the blue uninvited.

Castiel hates Dean Winchester with a passion. Every word he said, every look he makes, ever movement he does makes the Novak hate him more and more each day. He revels in their burgeoning relationship, content to end his day with Cas asleep on his shoulder, even if they'll always sleep in separate rooms. Cas is it for him.
