"You didn't eat again," he said quietly. She didn't turn. Didn't even flinch. "Maira," he spoke again, softer this time, taking a step closer. "I brought dinner. Atleast have a few bites." Her voice came out barely above a whisper, low, trembling. "Why? So I can stay strong enough to keep pretending?" The words hit him hard, knocking the breath out of him. "You're not pretending," Hadi said quickly, defensively, though he wasn't sure who he was trying to convince, himself or her. She turned slowly, eyes red and hollow. "Aren't I?" she asked, voice trembling. "I sleep in this room like a stranger. Even though I'm your wife. I exist in your world, Hadi... but can I ever exist in your heart?" "Maira," he began, this was the first time she had openly claimed her title as his wife and he didn't know how to respond, but he said with his tone heavy, "you know everything. I... I married you because I..." "...felt guilty," she finished for him, her voice sharp, cutting through the air. "You hit me with your car. My life shattered. And you had to save me to get rid of your guilt." He froze. Words deserted him. Her eyes dropped to the floor, tears gathering along her lashes. "At least Lubna has your love. Your son has your name. Me? What do I have?" --- 𝐌𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐚 𝐀𝐥𝐢. 24. No identity beyond that. No one to call hers. No place she could truly belong. Except in one nikahnama... where her name sat beside his. 𝐋𝐮𝐛𝐧𝐚 𝐀𝐧𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐢. 28. A talented interior designer. Graceful, and passionate about her work. Hadi's first love, and the woman the world recognizes as his wife. 𝐇𝐚𝐝𝐢 𝐀𝐧𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐢. 30. Successful. Respected. A loving husband. A devoted father. A man who did the right thing, even when his heart wasn't in it, and married a woman out of guilt... not love.

"P-please.." My voice was a jagged, stuttering mess. I frantically clawed at the basement floor, trying to scramble backward, but my limbs were shaking too violently to find traction. Tears cut through the dirt on my face as I stared up at his towering silhouette. "I-I-I'm sorry... I-I promise, ! don't do this, p-p-please!" Adrien stood completely unhurried, his sapphire eyes dead and hollow. His violence wasn't a fit of rage; it was a cold, calculated execution. He stepped forward, pinning my left leg flat against the concrete with his crushing weight, and brought a solid iron rod down directly onto my kneecap. Crack. An explosive, white-hot agony shattered my mind. I let out a blood-curdling shriek that bounced violently off the walls, my entire body convulsing. "A-Adrien! stop! I I please!" I screamed, sobbing so hard I choked. Without a word, he lifted the rod again and shattered my right kneecap. I collapsed onto the freezing floor, my teeth clicking violently from the absolute shock. Before I could pass out, Adrien knelt over my trembling form. He shattered a thick sheet of glass against the table, holding a razor-sharp shard in his gloved hand. "You forgot whose name you carry, my dear," he whispered softly. "Let's make sure you remember." He pressed the jagged glass deep into the bare skin of my shoulder blade. I shrieked, my body locking into a rigid line as he began to deliberately engrave his name into my flesh. TRIGGER WARNING‼️‼️ This book is not ordinary dark romance novel . Prologue: The Price of Stardom The water was always too cold, and Ahaan's patience was always too thin. "Again," Ahaan said, his voice dropping into that familiar, terrifyingly gentle register that never once matched the violence of his actions. "I'm tired," Aradhya begged, her voice raw, trembling against the sterile, soundproofed walls of the recording studio. "Sing, Aradhya. I don't have the whole day," he replied smoothly. She cried, a silent, helpless slipping of tears that she had learned never to wipe away. It only prolonged the waiting. He didn't hesitate. He slapped her-precise, heavy, designed to shock the system rather than bruise the face that the world would soon worship. "I. Am. Not. Paying. For. Tantrums," he said coldly. With practiced indifference, he grabbed her by the back of the neck and dunked her face straight down into the ice-filled bucket of water kept beside the console. The shock tore the breath from her lungs. When he pulled her back up, gasping and shivering, he offered no towel, only a command. "Sing." She took a ragged, desperate breath, swallowed the panic clawing at her throat, and sang. Her pitch was flawless. Her tone was haunting. And that was how Aradhya Kashyap recorded her first song.

His grip tightened on her jaw, forcing her to look up and meet his gaze. She was shaking terribly, terrified of the intensity in his eyes. The suffocating closeness between them made her feel as though she might collapse at any moment. She could feel his monstrous huge length on her gut, his cold cigarette breath on her face. "Look at me," he commanded, his voice a low, sharp whisper that brooked no argument. When she hesitated, frozen by fear, he leaned in closer, his presence entirely overwhelming her. "So you want me to grab your hairs and drag you to our room and make you bounce....." before he finishes his words she instantly opened her eyes and started looking into his eyes. She can't go back to his room, not after what he had done with her not after all the humiliation he made her go through in that room. She was holding her breath making her neck curves look visible that all he wants is to suck her until he mark her entire body but he controlled his inner beast who was dying to taste her. "Your brother is on the way," he warned, his voice cutting through the silence like ice. "And I don't want him knowing a single thing about what is happening between us."She remained completely still, her breath catching in her throat, her wide eyes locked onto his. Before she could process the threat, the distant sound of a car pulling into the driveway echoed through the house.
