Anastasia Petrova has spent most of her life running - from her past, from her powers, and, perhaps most of all, from herself.
For years, the one thing she could always rely on was her own judgment. She knew who she was, what she stood for, and how far she was willing to go to protect the life she had fought so hard to build. Her decisions were hers alone, and her reputation - carefully forged through years of sacrifice - was something no one could take from her.
But now, Anastasia has been offered a choice.
And for the first time, she isn't sure she can trust the person making it.
On one side lies the possibility of freedom: a chance to finally live as herself without the scrutiny, suspicion, and hatred that have followed her for as long as she can remember. A chance to put down the weight of her past, to stop being defined by what she can do and what others believe she is capable of. To choose herself, without apology.
On the other lies something far greater than her own freedom - the salvation of a country that has endured far too much for far too long. A nation fractured by conflict, haunted by old wounds, and desperately reaching for the peace it has been denied. Anastasia may have the power to change its fate, but doing so could mean sacrificing the life she has spent years trying to reclaim.
As the ghosts of her past collide with the demands of her present, Anastasia is forced to confront a question she has spent her entire life avoiding: what does she owe the world, and what does she owe herself?
Duty or freedom. Her people or herself. The life she has always wanted, or the destiny she has always feared.
Because perhaps the hardest choice isn't deciding whether she will become a Saint or a saviour.
It's deciding whether she can finally believe she deserves to be either.
