Dawn Whitney hasn't spoken a word with her sister in two years, when her parents drop her off there for the summer. Needless to say she's less than thrilled. She doesn't want to get to know Sarah's life, or her friends, or her horse.
But over the sunmer, she begins to understand why her sister left, and the more she understands that, the more begins to resent her home.
Befriending a horse and two kids at her sister's barn, she slowly begins to figure out who she wants to be, rather who she's been told she has to be, all her life.
Horseland becomes a home quicker than she would've thought, but all things have to come to an end. And sooner or later, Dawn finds herself back in the reality that is her life. In which she's expected to be perfect, and her sister left her to survive alone with their parents.
