Eventually, when Elwin decides he's well enough to go back to Foxfire and since both he and Sophie are polyglots, they have the class together. Her so - called boyfriend broke up with her when she caught him cheating red-handed the day after the crash. With no other place to live, she has to stay with her older brother Grady and his wife Edaline. Keefe's life might have looked like a wish that came true. But what good is looks. His world was empty, no one that loved him dearly. Parents who forgot their child. Friends who cared more about popularity and money. His life was held together by the very hope of change. Sophie and her friends have defeated the neverseen and as a reward, they all go to the forbidden cities with Keefe's dads crystal and chaos ensues. Some Sokeefe,Marelinh, Fitz being all alone, but he's not an asshole. Now back to the plot, they take a random facet and they end up in Acadia, Maine. They book a cabin and they stay for a week and the rest, well, you have to read to find out the rest.

She decides she and Fitz should take a break until she figures everything out for herself. Fitz thinks it means Sophie is implying she is too good for him. He gets angry and starts stirring up lots of drama for no reason. Fitz convinces all of their friends to hate Sophie, but Keefe stays by Sophie's side when no one else does.
