This story has the follow TWs: Mental health themes, light drug use
Ever since the show ended, Nickel has been more or less on his own. He wasn't one of the 'guys'. He didn't fit in with the girls. His friends would rather hang out with everyone else. He was fine with it, at least he thought. He didn't need anyone else, he had himself! Just himself. There was something biting at him though, the need for attention whispering in the wind, the need for connection, for comfort, for someone, for anyone.
Black Hole was fed up with his own friend group. Death PACT was more or less over the moment the show finished. Whatever, he'd find people who were truly interested in ending death once and for all. Days. Weeks. A month. No one. He was handling it himself, as he always did. But it was tiring, draining, even, to know he was the only one determined to do it. It started to lead him to wonder if it was all worth it? Until...
The two's lives end up folding into each others' when Black Hole saves Nickel from an injury, and ends up having to care for him for the time being, because no one else will. They always said opposites attract. Usually, it's reserved for enemies. But what if it's reserved for people who might be more alike than they realized... and more alone?
