Julia Pierce had spent her entire life living in her father's shadow, and living in his lie. Alexander Pierce loves his daughter, but after discovering an anomaly in the blood to enhance the Winter Soldier program, he sees it as the perfect opportunity to move up in HYDRA's ranks, even if it means sacrificing his daughter to the cause. Forced into a new, sinister world, Julia must survive in HYDRA, and over everything else comply. She trains with the Winter Soldier, a more machine than man but she could've sworn there was something tumultuous behind those stoic eyes. All while discovering she isn't who she thinks she is, and neither is her alleged father who she believes him to be. In a world that's moved on without her, how could she possibly learn how to live again, when all she was before was replaced with foggy memories, and a gun in her hand.

Following the collapse of the Avengers, Natasha Romanoff has disappeared. However, the Red Room doesn't believe in disappearing. It believes in assets, and it just sent its most lethal one to bring her in. When a child assassin in a cat mask is sent for her, a decades old lie begins to unravel. The young girl isn't just a soldier, she is a biological anomaly, a shared project of Hydra and the Red Room, and the daughter Natasha was told had died years ago. Now, on the run from the world, Natasha is forced to navigate a reunion she never thought possible: a daughter who fears her, a sister she hasn't seen in years, and their "parents" who let all of this happen, Natasha must return to where everything began. The Red Room is still active. Dreykov is still breathing. And he wants his most valuable project back. -- Content Warning: This story explores sensitive themes that some readers may find upsetting. Bucky Barnes, better known as The Winter Soldier, has learned to stay undercover and not draw any attention. Keeping his head down in a small apartment in Bucharest is supposed to make that easier. That is, until his neighbor stumbles into his home and accidentally discovers who he really is. Although he tries to keep her away, she offers quiet companionship, and little by little, they begin to trust each other. What began in a run-down apartment building in Bucharest turns into a bond that doesn't need many words. With a history as fractured as his own, they both begin to find something they never expected: a place to belong. But as old memories resurface, new friendships are formed, and both of them search for the people they used to be, one question remains: Can someone who no longer knows who they are ever believe they deserve to be loved? They called her Asset 17 before they ever called her by her name. HYDRA built Y/N into the perfect weapon: obedient, controlled, impossible to read. Trained to manipulate, trained to survive, trained to make people trust her even when her hands were covered in blood. Escaping them was supposed to be the hard part. It wasn't. Now living inside Avengers Tower surrounded by people who somehow keep choosing her anyway, Y/N is forced to navigate something far more terrifying than missions or violence: being known. Especially when old HYDRA files begin resurfacing. Because it's one thing to survive your past. It's another thing entirely to watch the people you care about discover what was done to you. And Wanda Maximoff-soft where Y/N is sharp, patient where Y/N wants to run-keeps looking at her like she's still human underneath all the damage. The worst part? Y/N's starting to believe her.
