Set half a millenia after a cataclysmic event on a far off settled world, the survivors descendants have return to somewhat normalcy, albiet in often almost tribalistic communities. The air has become toxic, with the ability to instantly mutate or even kill whoever breaths it in. Therefore, filtered and clean air has become a commodity, and often the central uniting currency. Without the technology they once mastered, many ancient jobs came back to life, once such job is the Courier. The main character of this tale is one such Courier, a young woman in ragged clothing on the most important delivery of her relatively short life. Apologies for the AI cover, when I have the money I will pay for an actual artist, in the meantime I deal with what i can get haha

A hundred die every day on the continent of Kenshi. To survive in of itself is impressive, to survive alone is another thing entirely. Though even when you intend to stay alone, you can never expect who the winds might send your way. This is the story of four souls, across the continent all connected in ways they didn't even know, all with their own lives, their own goals and their own troubles. This is a tale of survival, blood and connection in the most unlikely of places. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is a Kenshi fanfiction. If you don't know what Kenshi is, it's a fantastic yet incredibly janky indie game, I adore the setting and its possibly my favourite game of all time. This is purely a side project and will be uploaded whenever I finish chapters. This story is one of cool battles, survival and eventually found family dynamics. Also as usual apologies for the ai book cover, hopefully I'll be able to commission a fan to do some proper book cover art.

"A job that stinks, a noble with unknown intentions and a monster in the shadows." Gunnar has lived under the radar his entire life, yet when he's approached with a suspiciously well paying job, the mercenary can't help but be curious. Armed with nothing but a rusted gun and a pocketful of shrapnel, Gunnar's about to get involved in something way above his paygrade. *** A bit more detail about the setting: A Pocketful of Shrapnel is set in Juniper City. One of many megacities that make up part of an even greater megacity known as the Ring. The Ring circumnavigates the entire globe upon the equator of a tidally locked planet that humanity settled on centuries ago. Juniper City is a culture of cruel nobles on top and violent gangs below. Mercenaries sit somewhere in the middle, most take onthe mantle as its the only way for them to survive. Some rise to be stars akin to celebrities, some never make it past their first job. Gunnar sits happily near the bottom, yet always alive and always working. This tale follows Gunnar Vaen as he takes on a job that'll change his life and the life of the city that he lives in. *** A bit more detail about the book: This is a cyberpunk novel with an attempt at a light sprinking of grimdark, inspired by Necromunda and as you may have guessed, Cyberpunk 2077. I am slowly editing the story with advice and feedback, so always grateful to hear more! This is the first book in the setting of The Ring and the first book in the series that follows Gunnar Vaen. I have the second book in the works too, a very basic first draft done and another book in the setting but following a different character. Real cover is currently on the way! Yay!

For Pink Literary Society's 2025 Christmas anthology, Coffee, Crime and Christmas Time, it's a short story about moving a house and giving the man the middle finger. Content warning: There is no coffee because I think coffee is icky. Best I could offer is hot chocolate. It is also brown but it is more tasty. In theory at least, because I also don't like chocolate. I'm a mess. Sue me Gemma. Update: Coffee made an appearance. It was for the narrative. This content warning is now for the presence of coffee.

A man wanders alone, lost in both time and thought in the quiet solitude of a vast forest. Under a watchful gaze, he confronts the fragmented memories of his past; his regrets, his joys, and the weight of a life lived. He relives moments of love, parenthood, and missed opportunities and finds himself reflecting on those moments of his life that consume him. This novella explores the nature of reflection, the human struggle to make peace with the self, and the choices that shape us through rich allegory and profound introspection. With stunning imagery and a narrative that invites readers to reflect on their own lives, this is a meditation on the burdens we carry and the paths we ultimately choose to walk. - - - 2025 Amby's Favorite under the title 'The Owl' Winner of the 2025 March Writer's Crown from the Watthub Community
